Independent East is a collaborative alliance of five community focused housing associations across Norfolk and Suffolk.

Together, we share knowledge, experience, and best practice, strengthening our collective voice on housing issues that matter to our communities.

By working in partnership, we are not only improving services today but also preparing for the opportunities and responsibilities that devolution will bring ensuring that social housing remains at the heart of shaping a stronger, fairer future for our region.

About the Panel

Residents are at the heart of everything we do. A theme that runs true for all five members of Independent East.

A bold approach to resident involvement, the ambition was to have a group of residents’ scrutinise services across all our organisations, what are we doing well, where we do need to improve, what can we learn from each other.

The Panel were tasked with deciding which areas of the business they wanted to review. They reviewed the Tenant Perception Survey results to look at areas where they felt needed to be scrutinised.

Over the last couple of years the panel, with their independent Chair, Samantha Goodwin, have been delivering. With two scrutiny reviews under their belt, on damp and mould and anti social behaviour, they are already onto their third, repairs appointments.
